I'm feeling good about my marriage!
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 01:25 PM by forradalom
Finally. We're having a nice interlude of peace, love and, uh, ......... you know.. I hope it lasts for more than a few days. We are looking into marriage counseling, too.

I know that the only constant is change, so I'll back bitching about it soon, but I thought I'd post something positive about it for a change.

spouse. Not the usual "I love yous"

I find it can set the tone for the whole day and even if an argument happens, it's tempered.

Believe me, I know. If my husband says something to me at the beginning of the day (e.g. "Gee, you look pretty today, did you do something different w/ your hair?")....and if an argument ensues that day (and BTW we seldom argue) is tempered with that compliment.
I know; I am easy.

Edit: usual stuff

13. I'm happy for you.
That is what to strive for. Unfortunately for me, I had my epiphany moment in the middle of a screaming match in marriage counseling session, but ideally, it would have gone the other way. We had a few nice moments and some positive notes to end on as well. Even now, even though I b*tch and moan a lot, we both love our children so much and understand that they need both of us. We don't use them in between or as pawns in our problems.

I hope things continue to go well for you. That's great news! :D
