... I know that you should be connected to the eMule as well as that Kad network.. to get a high ID.
I have Norton Personal Firewall, and in the settings of that, I have opened the required ports. (4662, 4672, and I opened 4711 the one for the Web Interface just in case)
For some reason though, when I turn on NPF..
Well crap!!... it looks like it jsut fixed itself... hmmmmm.
I guess nevermind.. I was having a problem with LOWID and Kad network saying "Firewalled" when my NPF was on..
but now NPF is on, and I have a HIGHID and an open Kad Network connection....
strange...

3. Actually I do have a question.... |
|
While eMule is running with Norton Personal Firewall.. sometimes a message comes up that a Remote System as trying to Access your Computer... but it is not on either of those ports that are supposed to be for e-mile.. so I hit block instead of permit..
Did I just block some of my downloads from being able to start?
some of the users in one of the files I have in my Que, the status says "Asked for an".... asked for an what? Hmmm..

4. OK, I'm using aMule on linux, so I'm not sure about the windows |

version, or the windows firewall issues. All I can tell you, really, is that if some of your downloads never start, and you can correlate this temporally with clicking "deny" for the access requests you describe, that would be some useful information. I have NO idea why some downloads would start without the firewall asking for permission and others would need to explicitly ask. Seems fairly unlikely since you have the right ports open. Sometimes yer firewall will take awhile, or need to be stopped and restarted, before new rules kick in. And, as always with windows, see if rebooting fixes it. ;-)
