So what's for dinner at your house? |
|
My partner brought home a selection of cheeses and deli meat, so we're having that with olives, baguette, wine, fruit (pomegranate, grapes, plums). We're arraying in in a sort of buffet-style layout and we're going to just enjoy TV and our dogs this evening. Among the choices are:
Horseradish cheddar Wild morel and leek Monterey Jack Drunken Goat Gouda Chelmsford Stilton Point Reyes Blue Fines Herbs Brie
Cappicola Lebanon bologna Sundried Tomato Ham Cracked pepper turkey Dry salami Roast beef

We've kind of turned into foodies since the election debacle. Anything to keep us moving forward, right?

where I would kill for some cheese, especially that brie.
Damn it. I hate having high cholesterol.
I'm going to make some risotto with salmon. I'll put a little bit of grated parmesan on it. A very little bit.

salmon. I get it at Costco and it's pretty cheap out here on the left coast. Always looking for new ways to cook it. Spicy is good for me! :-)

I made a chunky meat and veggie pasta sauce and served it over penne. Had enough left over to freeze, which is a good thing these days.

Just put a very small ham in the oven, poured Sprite on the bottom of the pan and will soon top with brown sugar. I'm not a fan of ham but just have a taste for it. Whatever ham is left will use for pea soup and sandwiches, ham and eggs.

I love weekends because he's an excellent cook - I cook weekdays because he gets home late but I'm pretty boring. He's making Chile Colorado tonight with mexican rice, refries and flour tortillas. Yummy.....

French loaf, sliced cukes and tomatoes. Nice light summer meal. The chicken was fabulous, it's been marinating all weekend in white wine, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar (the really good kind).
