Now I'm going to be nuking some light bulbs... Found some sites:

http://www.lazysod.eclipse.co.uk/lightbulb/

http://microwave.tehbox.com/globes/tungsten.html

(additional) http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~vawter/PhysicsNet/QTMovies/Inductance/Bulb-in-MicrowaveMain.html

Can't wait to photograph the results!

2. Be careful!
Make sure the bulb (60W or greater) has the metal bit completely submersed in a glass that's filled with water. The water will insulate the metal and prevent arcing and damage to the microwave's internal bits.

Don't heat for longer than 10 seconds, it will eventually explode -- an explosion could rip through the viewscreen in the front.

Sounds dangerous, and only I am stipid enough to try it!

4. My popcorn the other night caught on fire in the microwave............
It was Orville's with lots of butter, if that is of any importance. The smoke was especially nasty and stung the eyes.
