My husband was hit a few years ago. Hit and run - and they caught the guy.

No broken bones, but lots of bruises. I went up onto the hood and onto the ground--very theatrical and stunt-like. He ran a stop sign.

And if you were at night were you wearing bright cloths? Being a Bicyclist I know that bright cloths won't always help, and how much it sucks to get hit by a car. But it's never been bad enough (on me or my bike) that I couldn't ride away.

I now live in Denver, was in my old neighborhood feeding stray cats that come around there. Imagine, doing a good deed and getting nailed! And want to know the most bizarre part of all this?

...I had just jumped backwards from a car that had run the stop sign, turned at that speeding car, then a nano-second later turned back to see this second car coming at me! NO ONE stops at stop signs in LA!
