In the stages of grief, I'm still in anger/denial. You? |
|
some of my friends are in bargaining: "It might not be so bad if the Dems in Congress assert themselves." Some are at the stage of acceptance/moving on: "In '06 we'll take back both houses of Congress..."
Me? I am still fucking pissed. I am in disbelief. What about you guys?

2. Count me in the category of |
|
"still fucking pissed."
And looking to get MUCH more vocal. No more playing nice because I am "representing" my candidate.
That reminds me, I need to shop for new bumper stickers on the internet. Ones that will really say what I feel.
Screw em. No unity. No shutting up.

no bargaining. I'm resolute in my liberalism and I am now thinking we should have listened to Dennis Kucinich. We should have been who we are.

28. I'm thinking the same way. The Repukes lie about us anyway |
|
so why not give them something really big to lie about, instead of little pissant things?
Kerry made the wimpiest imaginable nod toward expanded health care and the Pukes screamed, "agh nationalized health care socialism socialism agh agh agh!"
Kerry was a decorated war hero and the Pukes called him a draft-dodging cowardly self-inflicting-injury deserter.
Kerry said that GLBT people shouldn't ask to get married but we shouldn't be real mean to them and the Pukes said he'd force every heterosexual married person in the country to become gay.
Kerry said he'd rather not talk a lot about religion but as for him, he's Catholic and attends church regularly and the Pukes said he's outlaw Bibles.
So, the way I see it, next time let's run a Socialist-Democrat proposing a national health service who is anti-war, gay, and an atheist.
There'd be no difference in the press coverage.

I am still pissed , I am gonna be pissed off for 4 years . 2 years if the Dems in charge wake up and take charge . My distraughtness has weared off . But yes I am still pissed and I get even more angrier as I read the numbers from each state . I will continue to say , KERRY WON IN NC - the numbers here are very strange .

I am there sometimes too. Like when I saw a B/C bumpersticker yesterday. I found myself saying (in a closed car, thank goodness) "fuck you" and when I saw a newspaper with * on the cover I was like "fuck this".

15. Look at it from the GOP side...many of them are in disbelief |
|
They had their party stolen by Robertson, Falwell and self-serving elitists. A lot of them are in disbelief that they shafted working Americans and common rights. I had one dumb co-worker tell me she would have never voted for Bush if she knew the Senate would gain GOP seats. We are not dealing with especially bright people. At least we voted for the moral side of health care, decent wages, and peace through leading the world.
Give yourself a break, wouldn't it really sick to be a republican right now. Specter is finding out.

17. As I understand the denial stage it includes avoidance. |
|
And I'm there, with a touch of uncontrolled anger.
In my small town, I'm now wearing the Scarlet Letter. I've said "Hello" and been walked past, not from friends but from those who were friendly. That's still OK, but I know it'll be unbearable before long.
The Church left me, my neighborhood left me, now I need to figure out how to leave here.

19. Between depression and acceptance |
|
I keep thinking well, maybe it's a good thing Bush has won because Kerry won't have to piece back all the shit Bush left behind. That lasts a few hours then I lapse back into a depression...this took the wind out of my sails...
The late Dr. Kubler Ross said these stages are not linear but cyclic so I hope with time we all heal one day.

Not getting much done. I'm angry, but with me it's never overt until it builds. It only "looks" like I have a quick temper. But what people don't know... it's been sizzling for quite some time. I'm still pissed at events from my childhood.
I hope I can channel it before I get an ulcer.

25. going between pissed and depressed. And some denial filled daydreams... |
|
I had built up so much anticipation to things being better after election day- to finally being able to breathe. Now it is like someone turned the light out at the end of the tunnel.
And folks here in Madison haven't taken doing their K/E yardsigns yet. Everytime I see one I think "hope was on the way".

27. I'm morbidly interested, but apathetic at the same time. |
|
I know it sounds kind of sick, but I can't wait to see * fuck up this country so completely and irreversably that we'll be screwed up for generations to come. Hell, I'm almost eighteen, but I can't wait to see those draft cards be sent out to all my *-voting peers (I've been guaranteed a plane ticket out of the US if they want me). I can't wait to see this country get buyers' remorse when this administration starts to unravel. I don't know how many lives or lies or scandals it will take to make this country wake up, but I think it will eventually. And then I'll laugh, and not feel sorry for the * people, because they brought it on themselves. Before this election, I felt pity for a lot of Americans. Now...I just feel that this country will get exactly what it asked for in four more years of Bush.
Ever since I was little, I felt very out of place in this fundamentalist, neoconservative America. I'm a Christian, but not diehard by any means. When I went to Europe last summer, I felt so incredibly at home that I've begun to plan my career around living and working there.
So yeah, that's where I am.

30. I too felt home when I lived in Europe . |
|
I lived in Germany from March 2001 to May 2004 , I found myself there . I only came home because I wanted to vote for Kerry in person - because I believe that America was going to get better if he were elected . But now I see that dream faded away and I am depressed because I am stuck here - but I am not fleeing back to Europe just yet . I am angry and I am gonna fight .
And I am planning my career around living and working in Europe too . I love that place . A part of me is still there ...

we have survived and been the better for it. She quoted Thomas Jefferson regarding the time of the Alien and Sedition Acts. We have survived. We will survive. We are Americans. It is a process, a battle that is always in progess. And remember, working with people is always a messy bussiness. Chins up, ladies. :D
