12. I agree, and am all over Bev Harris, etc......
HOW EVER, in the big picture, Iraq was wrong long before the election was fucked up. The MSM was all over the "Terra-rists" this weekend. Circle back to "Makes me want to vomit."

10. Then I guess we do too.
We couldn't muster the Vote to get Bush out. Our Elected Democratic Congress voted to give Bush the authority for War. You & I deserve everything we get. Bad Economy, Loss of Rights,Threat of Terror.

Those Troops are there because YOU failed. We all failed.

The Troops are us.

11. Understand your view, but I have a nation to save.....
I am also broken over the poor, proud Iraqis-My brother is a Big Time Oklahoma Bible Banger and also some kind of Army rarefied guy.
While he's been busy breeding more Children of the Corn, God (and Hiz Lord Jeez us Christ, the Powers That Be) called him up to go KILL AY-RABS IN IRAQ." I say, "knock yourself out." I reject violence. Doesn't make me a bad person. Makes me much less welcome at family events. I find myself drawing more of a line each day.

3. So do I
What's to discuss? Thousands of people are dying or going to die with bombs that my tax dollars helped pay for. Their crime? They are dark-skinned people in a county that both has oil and is rather centrally located in the Middle East.

5. Our chance to stop it came and went.
This makes me incredibly sad.

I honestly feel there is nothing I can do to stop it. :(

8. What's there to talk about. The crazies are intent on killing a lot of
innocent people and there's not one damn thing we can do to stop them.

It sickens me, just like the days when we used to spray agent orange on the Vietnamese.

Anyone who thinks that this country has a righ to claim the moral highground is delusional.

15. I am disgusted by it too.
last night I sat and read a blog by an Iraqi girl. So much hatred of *b*. So much tragedy. She lives in Baghdad. The deaths, kidnappings and bombings.
Today I tried to talk about it with my rep boyfriend and he started yelling at me. He said I should stop filling my life with "negative things" because it was making me sick. I said what should I do? Fake you out and be sunny? THERE ARE PEOPLE DYING!!!! and he just gave me this look like I was an alien.
Soon I will visit my folks, who are fundies, pro-*b*; they think he is the greatest president ever and they are "sorry" that I was supporting Kerry. This is what I have to deal with.... so much less than that girl in Baghdad.
I lived through the vietnam war as well; through Mai Lai. I was utterly shocked by it all but found no support with my family.
My friends came back all freaked out and mad and said WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING OVER THERE!!??
I'll tell you this. We are going through bad times right now.
We will be going through some more maybe worse times.
None of us are going to experience what the girl in Baghdad is feeling right now.
But just being disgusted and sick of it all is not enough on our part. We need to remain strong and not be discouraged.
Yes, my avatar says "Hope is on the rocks". One short week ago it was "Hope is on the way". Maybe I should change it back.
We need to keep that gut-wrenched feeling in our gut but still stand up for what is right.
Write letters. Talk to people. March for justice.
The tide will eventually turn, and we must not lose sight of the things that are important to us. Think of the girl in Baghdad every time you feel defeated and think I STILL HAVE A VOICE! and then go use it. People were disgusted by Vietnam and the tide did turn.
We need the voice of the young people. We need the wisdom of the older people. We ARE THE PEOPLE. And we have to make the message heard NOT IN MY NAME!
