Steelers fans: Myron Cope in the hospital
Cope taken to hospital at halftime

Monday, November 08, 2004
By Bob Smizik, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Legendary Steelers broadcaster Myron Cope was taken to Presbyterian Hospital yesterday at halftime of the game with the Philadelphia Eagles for treatment of a head injury. Cope, in his 35th season as color analyst on the Steelers' radio network, was admitted and is expected to have a magnetic resonance imaging test today.

Cope was walking, but with assistance, as he left Heinz Field.

The extent of his injury, which occurred Saturday in a fall at his home, is not fully known.

I was listening to the game on the radio yesterday, and he did *not* sound good in the first half. He didn't say much at all, and sounded confused when he did speak. I hope the old guy recovers quickly.

1. Would he happen
Would he happen to have the bed next to the one in which the Eagles' self respect is currently convalescing?

3. Yoi and double yoi
He's been having health problems all year. I hope he comes back strong for at least the rest of the season and tops it off with a Super Bowl.

4. It's been 20 years since I've been in Pgh
but I can still hear his voice "This is Myron Cope....on sports"

Great guy, great supporter for all the teams.

Hope all is well, but hell, he's got to be nearly 70 now, right?
