Hey people. This election has driven me to depression and overwhelming anxiety. I can't sleep at night, worrying and crying.


We have a president who believes in "The End Times." He actually thinks that we'll see the end of the world in our lifetimes, and 40% of the country agrees. He thinks that atheists (like me) should be treated as second class citizens, is not afraid to say so, and 40% of the country agrees with him.

He is the first president in our history to openly pursue a fascist agenda, and 50% of our adult populations are psyched. He thinks he has a mandate, he thinks he can now remold the nation into his own image. A civil war is coming, I know it. This combination of fundamentalist religion and bellicose fear-mongering is the single most destructive force at work in the world today; we finally have our own Taliban.


In that spirit, I have acquiesed to my wife's wishes and am pledging THE FUCK AWAY from the computer, the newspapers, the TV, etc. for a few weeks while I concentrate on merely keeping myself in one piece emotionally and finding a college that will admit my ass. (I got turned down by the college I was applying to. Fuck.)Reading DU, bartcop, whatreallyhappened.com, etc. everyday makes me scream and shout and become very flustered. Since my wife's job ended, she will be taking November off from work. I have promised to her that I will not use the computer while she is in the house.

So, see ya, my fellow DUers. I should be back online in December. (I can't guarantee a relapse or two won't happen!)I'm doing this for the love of my wife.

Since DU is something of an addiction for me, this ain't gonna be easy. With the amount of time I spend at work everyday (sometimes 15 hours+), DU has been my only escape valve and it's hard knowing I can't escape.

Wat, if Robert Pollard calls, tell him "sure, I'll play drums for you!"

Chavez, if Josh Strength returns in Zombie form to lay waste to our island of wimpy liberals and puny freethinkers, I trust that you can protect us all. I love you, man!
