A fag shoe is one of those cheap black canvas loafers that could be bought for less than $10. I can't find them any more.
Why I call them fag shoes: Back in the early/mid 70's my basement was a hangout for my degenerate hippy friends. In those days we blue collar hipsters generally wore boots so when my gay buds Keith and Greg came in wearing these non-sanctioned footwear I asked what the fuck they were wearing and Keith said "fag shoes!". So there you are.
