6. Thanks for your detailed answer, Mr. Coolidge. |
|
But - hmm - maybe you could win in your county, since it's now a Kerry county. :D

5. I ran for county commissioner and got smushed.... |
|
there is no way that I could ever get elected to anything in my central PA Republican homeland.... though there are a lot of other liberal dems here, we are vastly outnumbered.

9. No way, but not because it's not liberal, because it is. |
|
I couldn't win because my past wouldn't let me hold public office. A few too many skeletons in the closet...

10. Nah, I inhaled in the 60's. |

Even though I live in Vermont, I'll probably never be considered a Vermonter. I came from CA and I think that makes me suspect. I feel as though I contribute, educate myself on all the issues, and volunteer.
As Howard Dean says, if you can run, donate money and work in the campaign of someone you trust.
That I can do!

14. Assuming I had the democratic political machine behind me? |
|
Absolutely. Granted, Jersey is a Blue State anyhow, but not by THAT much. And we've had some really crapola Democratic Governors in the past, which people are still rather bitter about. Florio, like him or not, was a taxaholic on a level that even made ME sick to my stomach. But could I win? Yeah, sure. I've seen the Gubernatorial Debates for this state. It's like listening to a pair of 3rd graders explain the science fair projects their parents made.
