'Simpsons' Producers Shelve Movie Version Until 2008
The long anticipated movie version of The Simpsons has been put off until at least 2008 because those connected with the TV show don't want work on the movie to affect it, exec producer Al Jean has told Entertainment Weekly. "The biggest thing is you don't want to do a movie that's not reflective of the quality of the show, and you don't want the quality of the show to slip because you're doing the movie. So we're taking a little time," Jean said.

They've always said no movie until the series is over. So that means a few more seasons!

Now if they'd just get to work on the Futurama movie!!!

6. The idea has been bounced around, but I don't know that it will happen
But it's certainly possible. It's been doing very well on Comedy Central, and the creators still love it and feel they got a very raw deal.

if you listen to the commentary on the final episode, they mention the possiblity. I've heard it mentioned elsewhere too.

*sigh*

Best show EVER

3. Am I the only one who hates The Simpsons?
It was genius in its first eight seasons, but then it started a slide downwards that continues to this day.

They should have gone out when they were still fresh.

7. I'm pretty sure you are
While I agree it's not as good as before, it's still the best thing on TV.

or woman, im too lazy to look at your profile. anyway, i agree they are sucking. they put way too many one-liners and lame-ass random jokes. family guy does that, but they do it WELL. time to fire some writers, matt...

9. No, I agree, though I'd say nine and ten are good as well

For those of us who were in at the beginning, the quality has gone down drastically. I still think some of the earliest episodes are among the best television I've seen. The war with Nelson is an all time favorite of mine.
