I lost my little dog Zelda on Saturday
I posted about her lack of appetite on Thursday. She went fast - just kind of lost consciousness and lay in my arms for the last day and a half of her life. She was sixteen and a half and I loved her dearly. She was a cocker/golden mix that we adopted from the animal shelter when she was 10 weeks old (with her brother Scott, who died three and a half years ago.)

About a half hour later, we got a call that my SO's mother had died. I've known her since 1972.

4. Hugs and strength to LisaM
You were so good to hold your friend and send her off feeling love.

She will watch over you. The love does not end when the vessel wears out and breaks.

You hug your SO and get through this OK. Take strength from knowing many will be sending you energy and kind thoughts.

hm

18. Thanks, I had the names picked out for years
I always thought they would be cats, then I saw the two little puppies at the animal shelter and everything quickly changed. It's hard to believe they are gone. We have another dog, Gordie, and he is depressed but at least he is eating normally.

15. Sorry about your losses.
I never had a pet until I moved in with my partner. We have a beautiful little Pomeranian...he's four years old and give us so much love back.

I only know now how much a cat or dog can mean in someone's life.

21. Sorry to hear of your loss. My dog lived to be almost 16, and
she, too, went fast. That was three years ago, and I still think of her almost every day. :grouphug:
