Episode III trailer - whaddya think?
I know I am probably setting myself up for huge disappointment (based upon the trailers and the last two movies), but I thought it was pretty damn cool how new footage was interspersed with footage from the old films - it has me ready to see the new one.

Hopefully, the film will be dark (evil incarnate) and tell a good story with a good lead in to Episode IV. We'll see, but I am not holding my breath on that one.

Cheers!

1. I saw it
It scared me--and a Star Wars movie has never done that.

4. The sooner that
They slap that blonde teenage heartthrob inept actor in the Vader suit the better. I want it to happen in the first 20 minutes - Obi Wan kicks his butt, and he's critically injured and put in the suit, and James Earl Jones takes over the voice acting.

6. Best part of the trailer...
Was JEJ's "yes master" - hopefully he'll have a fair amount of dialogue which will mean a fair amount of screen time fo DV.

10. He will
The Star Wars story as originally envisioned by Lucas was the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker/Vader. Hopefully Lucas realizes that since this is the "first" time we see Vader, that's the selling point of the movie. Dump Blondie and bring on the suit.

Oh... And have him make Jar-Jar his first victim.

9. I have started out that way for each of the
previous films, but as the opening neared, set myself up for a big fall. That's why I have stayed away from so-called "fan sites" leading up to this one.

You're doing the right thing and hopefully I can keep myself in check too. :)

12. I just don't get how they allowed the movies to suck so hard...
...I mean, don't me wrong, there were some AWESOME scenes, but some of the acting was shit. Heck, Ep. IV-VI weren't exactly well acted, but they were well made. Lucas thinks good animation = good film...

14. Basically, they are now giant cartoons...
with a little real shots in for good measure.

The last two sucked mightily. Yes, I was a kid with the first series came out, but Empire stands on its own even today as a pretty good movie - hopefully that is model that is emulated for this one.

13. Hmmm - it DOES look like an improvement on the last 2
I was always intrigued as to how Vader got to be in his full-body prosthesis.
I guess I'll pony up for a cheap matinee seat when it comes out.
I wonder how many addicts will be lining up for weeks in costume this time - prolly at whole lot less than the last time!

15. Gotta admit: the trailer didn't impress me.
But I am looking forward to this movie, as I find I really like dark movies, especially if there is something light to contrast them with.

But, if "Sith" is what I want it to be, I suspect the American public will HATE it. Because really, this almost HAS to be a movie about a disaster, the devestation and end of an age of light, about the establishment of an age of darkness, with just a few desperate individuals barely surviving to provide ANY promise of future hope.

Further, I think Anakins fall should be done in such a way that it shows that Luke is BOUND to follow his footsteps, perhaps to even darker places.

If this film is done as I think it should be, all Star Wars fans should absolutely DREAD Episode 7. (If it is ever to be made.) Episode 4 basically had Obi Wan fighting against his former apprentice. Who is to oppose Dark Luke?

17. Uh-oh.
When they mix new with old, it's usually not good...

The film SHOULD be dark, but if the darkest one is "Empire Strikes Back", don't hold your breath for anything even more dark.
