Poll question: Is all rap music devoted to raping and killing?
My liberal co-worker thinks so.

I disagree with her. IMHO, there's a big difference between singing in anger about society's injustices to incite awareness and telling people to go actively kill a cop or be vicious toward a woman.

I dunno which rap groups sing about killing and maiming (apart from Eminem, but I'm not in the loop), but Public Enemy is the rap equivalent of late-1960s music that sung of society's injustices.

Listen to Jurassic 5, Blackalicious and the like. It's quite positive.

2. Tell your co-worker to listen to Changes by Tupac
Or Dear Mama, or Keep Ya Head Up.
