The "SECRET" Life of Christiane Amanpour |
|
I don't know where this thread belongs so I just plopped it here. I replied to an LBN with this, but there is a Mystery surrounding Christiane Amanpour. I dunno...a certain something (epecially if you don't know anything about her) that makes one wonder. Personally, I have no attracation to her, but it stirs those creative juices. The enigma of Amanpour:
I imagine that she's some jet setter out of a cheezy romance novel. How she has these trysts with the prime minister of Luxembourg and smuggles secret Microfilm through Western Europe to her "contact" inside British Parliament. When she's done with intrigue she either helps malaria victims on the Yangtze River and vacations with her married lover in a small Island off of Cyprus.
Is this wrong? Anyone else care to chime in.

maybe it has to do with Amonpour outing the corporate whore media over Iraq so it's time to discredit the messenger.

If Arnold had posted this, there would have been a few gangbangs sprinkled through the story, somewhere between the microfilm smuggling and the malaria outbreak.

Just like when anyone criticizes the Administration, moments later, we see threads like this about them on DU.
Amazing coincidence, you know...probably one of those 'convergence' things...

She was born in Iran to British and Iranian parents. A Moslem holding British citizenship, she immigrated to the U.S. after the Islamic revolution of Iran in 1979 and is married to the Clinton Administration's State Department spokesperson, Jamie Rubin.

14. Christian Amanpour went to the URI and somehow ended up living |
|
in a house with a bunch of people and JFK when he was at Brown.
I may have this wrong, but I think she was just a regular, middle class kid, child of an immigrant, who ended up meeting someone who knew someone, which landed her in that house with JFK, and that led to a connection which your average middle class URI student might not have, which she then turned into a major career thanks to hard work and intelligence.

I've never seen any indication that she used her JFKJr contacts to advance her career, tho she did do some commentary on him after his fatal plane crash, but by that time she was already very well-established.
Tawdry, tawdry innuendo.

This is 'SATIRE'. Funny stuff. This is not some media defamation. Just some crazy stuff my writer brain had always imagined and now that Amonpour is in the news like she is, I decided to post my weird imaginary notions.
I apologize if this not being in Lounge has short circuited your sense of humor circuits.

Obviously the Mods arent as riled out as some...Let the mods lock the board and have me learn my lesson.
And if my thoughts are so uninteresting, why bother flaming me?

31. There's limited space on the front page of DU |

and posting something as inane as that is sure to keep taking up some of that real estate as people go back and forth over it.
Believe it or not, GD is not a place for you or anyone else to demonstrate your great sense of humor and creativity, or anyone else's lack thereof.
And you would have got as much of a chuckle if it had been in the Lounge. Just how much effort (and patience) does it take to get to know the territory and it's customs before "contributing" to this board? How about some consideration?

23. Amanpour speaking out now may hint that the tide is turning |
|
She is no dummy. I don't think she would f&*k herself and her family by coming out now and saying what she has unless she knew something. She's a political animal. Her husband has been very tight with the UN for many years (a protege of Albright).
She's sharp as a tack and so is her husband (who is Jewish, BTW). I've seen mention that he is Robert Rubin's son, but have not been able to verify that one.

Jammie (??) Rubin who was an ass't. sec. of state under Clinton. They live in London. Many times Rubin is interviewed for his insights into things (and he isn't exactly a Bush lover). They have one kid. And she's always been the reporter who gets in and tells it like it is. Goes right to where the danger is. She very definitely starts slamming this administration - calls it as she sees it - unlike those butt kissers sent to cover the same news.

I knew we would be seeing threads like this sooner or later..It seems ANYONE on the inside of the Press who tells it like it is..That Bush and his propaganda arm FOX news are nothing but bullies go out of its way to hide the truth and trash anyone that does not fall in line with Bush and the right wing blitzkrig..

I think all of the responses have been more admiring of CHRISTIANA (not Christine!).
I find it frustrating at DU that many people do not read - they knee-jerk response or repeat threads because they don't read them.

37. The "SECRET" Life of Candy Crowley |
|
I imagine her in a cheesy Cheez-Whiz commercial...she has trysts with a Triscot snack cracker and smuggles pink Hostess Sno-Balls in her bra throughout Paris to her "contact", Les Elves du Keebler, who keep her warm on those cold Left Bank nights. When she's done intriguing on behalf of the Republican National Committee by craftily disguising herself as a television journalist, she helps relieve 7-11 clerks everywhere of their Frito-Lay overstocks and vacations with her married lover of the notorious German family Sauerbraten off the coast of Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Of course, Arnold would include a gangbang scenario with Les Elves du Keebler, but that's his "fantasy".
