Need help! Storm surge planning...
where can I find a good link that predicts storm surge for NJ. My In-laws both have houses on the shore in Cape May and would like to know what the effect of storm surge as a result of Isabel will likely be...

Thanks!

Brian

2. Go on the Weather Channel Website
I am supposed to go boating with my pal tomorrow, and we are in CT...if the hurricane gets here, we will like drink beer and go bowling? If the hurricane doesn't get here, we will, like drink beer and go boating! Who knows? Don't you remember when there was no internet, no accurate weather prediction, etc? Come on, where's your sense of adventure???

7. Old and fragile? Evacuate. Take meds.
Take extra metamucile, just in case. No need in getting irregular.

Take cash, extra clothes, favorite pillow (having your favorite pillow makes all the difference.)

Good luck to them and you.

5. Try This Link
http://iwin.nws.noaa.gov/iwin/nj/hurricane.html

Tidal surges expected to be from 3 to 5 feet so far. Since Isabel's course isn't graven in stone, you may want to check often.

8. don't fool around with this
A friend just called me a couple days ago from Cape May. I hope he has evacuated by now. Storm surge is nothing to mess around with. It can totally wash away the structure, be it house, hotel, etc.

9. Coastal NC evacuating tomorrow
People spent today boarding up houses and businesses along the Outer Banks.

If your in-laws are old and frail, board up their house and get them inland tout de suite!
