what am I doing wrong?

1. Have you chosen to upload one, or choose from what's provided?

If you uploaded one, make sure when you do to choose GIF or JPG. One of the buttons has to be chosen or it won't upload the file. (And it can only be a gif or jpg file.)

4. Two things I can think of off the bat --

1. You have to have a certain number of posts before you are allowed to upload your own avatar, I think (if memory serves me).

2. There is a kb size maximum for the avatar you upload, and it is tiny. Nothing I want to upload is under 3 kb, which is what the uploading message for avatars tells me is the size maximum.

Question: Are on the EDIT YOUR PROFILE page? (stupid question, but I had to at least ask!)

5. Yeah, I've never been able to upload a .gif either.

they're small enough, but I always end up with a "broken image" avatar. :shrug:

6. yes uploading and shrank the image to 48X32

maybe its the extension as mine might be jpeg vs jpg

8. What exactly are you trying to do?

I was having trouble uploading and it was because I was using a proxy server.

I used Internet explorer andno problem. :)

Other than that I have no idea.

9. would using Mozillia have anything to do with it?

I can pick images from DU's database

just cant upload mine
