for the next 2 weeks at least. Warcraft has always been good at strategy let's hope their mmorpg keeps some aspects, at least enough to warrant continued interest.

Rome Total War. This is an awsome strategy game, and the way it's set up you focus more on strategy than micro managing resources. Plus it does not hurt the graphics and troop modles are wondefull. Massive battles on a grand scale who could ask for more?

It's has a turn based element where you manage your provinces, move troops send diplomats ect. You can use assassins, or diplomats to kill or bribe opponents. You can also use marriage.
You choose a Roman Family at the beginning, and that determines starting position and colors, and also possible opponents.
This is all played out on a full European, Middle east, Egypt, and Northern Africa. Battles are fought on very lovely rendered battlegrounds very much resembling their actual area.
Battles are awesome now i have played the 2 prior Total War games (Shogun and Medieval) and they do not compare in the battle graphic department. everything has a move of it's own, even troops in the line twitch move, or bang their Shields. Units are thrown into the air by cavalry or elephant charges.
Replay value is very long as taking the whole map would take many, many hours of play. But theres also historic campaigns and create a battle type features.
I just find it very rich and enthralling to play, with it being very hard to pull myself away many times.

Command and Conquer: Generals ? My friend had it and he said it was cool but you need a powerful comp to play it. I liked the old school C&C:Red Alert games.
