Animals are filthy, disease carrying vermin...my rant on the subject
Once upon a time, not too long ago, someone posted a thread about animals. It's not the first time I've seen a thread where animals are equated with disease carrying vermin. I don't remember which animal it was about but that's not really the point here.

Today I took the Grrrl's for a walk. We had a fairly nice time. Got to see all kinds of interesting sights.

Broken beer bottles.
Discarded plastic cups.
Discarded catalogs.
Tossed out toys (although, to be fair it was a cute lobster plush)
A factory gushing out smoke

And I think to myself, "How dare those animals spread their diseases. Don't they realize that we humans are so beyond that? We'd never do anything to harm nature or other living things so why should they go around spreading their filth?"

And then I shook my head and quietly walked back home.

6. A large branch of the human races has
split from the main trunk and evolved from homo sapiens into homo porcus.

13. Ya can't disparage pigs now.
They are actually smart animals that are cleaner than humans. The only time pigs get filthy (except for a nice cool mud bath to cool down and keep off the bugs) is when humans pen them into small enclosures and feed them boiled garbage. Those pigs actually love fresh veggies, not garbage. Let them live on their own or in a nice big field and eat veggies and they don't stink more than anybody else.

8. We humans are a disgusting bunch.
Ever notice that the three largest groups of land animal species on this planet are (in no particular order):

  • Insects
  • Rodents
  • Humans

Personally, I rather step barefoot in a pile of dog crap than a broken beer bottle any day!

We suck!

9. You're not telling me anything...
the mountain bike trails I ride 3-4 times a week are always full of surprises. Who dumps their fucking trash in the woods? Is this unique to Missouri? Incredible.

10. No, unfortunately...
It's not just Missouri.

We've got people here who do the same thing. Once, though, they went through the garbage and found old bills or something with a name on it and tracked the people down and gave them a huge fine.

12. Actually a kid in daycare is more likely to get you sick than an animal
Because of the over prescription of anti-biotics, kids are generating superviruses that adults DO NOT have an immunity to.

Have a kid sneeze in your face during the next flu season and test my post. ;-)

15. So true! And also
I remember hearing once (in some class in college) that we actually smell worse than animals because we sweat. We just can't smell it because our sense of smell isn't as acute as an animal's.

But back to your point, I get so disgusted when I go for walks and see all this stuff that humans have discarded. I pick up my dog's waste, but even if I didn't, it degrades, plastic doesn't. I think the fine for littering ought to be a limb (as in arm or leg). Especially for those idiots driving along the hwy that think they can just flick their cigarette or big gulp cup out the window.

17. Flying Butts
I've had cigarette butts come flying out of windows and hit my car while I was driving. I so wanted to pull up behind someone and lay on the horn or something....

22. If they COULD think...
Perhaps they'd be more considerate of everyone else. I mean, come on, there's a friggin' ashtray in a car for a reason.

Of course, I guess there's windows in a car for a reason, too...?

16. Animals? I thought you said Republicans
studies show that one quarter of Americans and Canadians do not wash their hands after using a public restroom.

No difference between going #1 and #2.

You know those nice little trays of after dinner mints at the restaurant? #1 ingredient is urine.
