He was a brooding, byronesque sort. smart, two post-grad degrees, harley riding, history reading- a roiling mass of contradictions. His politics grew increasingly bizarre and more right wing as time went on. Half the time, I had the sense that he was just being a poseur because most of our friends were liberal dems. Long story short, I divorced him. Big part of the reason was definitely the politics thing.

I dated this girl back in high school (1995) and kept in touch after graduation. When I started sending out anti-Bush emails in 2001, I found out she became a 'born again' and affiliated herself with the christian right.
