Does anyone else's dog do this?
Mystique, my roommate's 50-pound pit bull, just loves to get her belly rubbed! Often, she turns over onto her back, sticks her legs up in the air, and thrashes about as if possessed. When I start to rub her belly, though, Mystique immediately ceases all motion and doesn't move again until I stop. At which point, she rolls back over and licks either my hand (if I'm sitting in the computer chair) or my face (if we're lying down on the bed).

So, does anyone else's dog do that? Just curious....

1. My Rottie loves to get a belly
rub. Hehhehe. He sleeps with us and he gets a belly rub each morning. And he puts his front paw out for me to kiss because he knows I do so its like he's saying "you may kiss my hand now." Try rubbing Mystique's ears. My dog just melts when I do that! LOL.

3. Yup, Mystique loves ear rubs, too!
Despite the reputation for viciousness that pit bulls have, Mystique is *the* friendliest, most affectionate dog I've ever met. That's because Patrick (my roommate) raised her to be a house pet, not an attack dog.

2. Sure.
For some reason I've had more males turning over on their backs than females. Also, I've never met a dog who didn't like it's back scratched about 5 inches toward it's head starting at the tail.

6. My dalmatian loved belly rubs
She'd rip and roar through the house and then flop onto her back in the living room... then she'd start this odd sort of doggie break dance. LOL! Every so often, she look around to see if anyone was coming to rub her. If not, she'd 'dance' some more an throw in some moaning noises for effect.

When someone finally gave in and started rubbing her belly, she'd moan and her hind legs would start kicking.

9. You've just described Mystique!
Dogs are great, aren't they? I'm just sorry I never lived with one until I was 38! :hi:

7. My mutt loves everything
My dog, a mix of beagle, cocker and dachshund is as dumb as they come but will lay at the foot of the bed and wait until I rub him. A real attention monster the only things he loves more than a belly rub is a bowl of ice cream. Yes, I know it's probably not good for him, but he is a good dog. He's a good dog ,but, d*mn, a dumb one.
