I made a cd last night that starts with Ray's version!

I followed with :

"I Took A Walk (through the fields of America)" by Shawn Phillips
"America" from West Side Story
"Young Americans" by David Bowie
"I'm An American Child (on a nuclear pile)" by Shawn Phillips
"Save The Country" by Laura Nyro

Maybe I should've done it on July 4th? Nah...

7. Doesn't have the word 'America' in the title, but one song you should

add to your CD is "Leather On My Shoes (Freedom Road)" by Chris De Burgh. It is an ode to what America used to be, and with God's help, could be again.

If I remember correctly, Ray's version of "Georgia on My Mind" is the official state song.

If we could only make his version of America the Beautiful the National Anthem!
