How come everyone in arthritis commercials |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 12:14 AM by OrwellwasRight
is too fucking young to have arthritis?
ON EDIT: I know my question is an exaggeration, and I apologize to anyone whom I may have offended. I did not mean to.
What I meant to do was rant about our youth-worshipping culture, and Madison Avenue's need to feature young, thin, healthy people in every single ad no matter what they are advertising. Drug companies, which, IMHO, should not be pushing prescription drugs at us 24 hours a day for every minor bit of stomach upset, pain, or feeling of unease, are especial culprits, and I am annoyed by their exploitation. I did not mean to question anyone afflicted by arthritis. My bad.

I didn't mean to be insensitive; I do know that it can affect younger folks.
This is just me spouting about our annoying youth-worshipping culture. As if the vast majority of folks with arthritis and erectile problems are in their 30s. NOT. I guess they just look better in commercials b/c they don't have so many wrinkles.

It is only an annoyance. A dose of advil usually makes any pain go away. I am lucky with that.
I am sick of all commercials about perscription drugs. Imagine me trying to explain what "Erectile Dysfunction" meant last time we watched televison together.:eyes:

start at different ages. Mine is Rheumatoid Arthritis, a systemic autoimmune disease and I was diagnosed at 35. Kids get it too.

6. And the people in wrinkle cream commercials |
|
are about 25 with smooth, youthful faces devoid of laugh lines or crows feet.

7. I Had Frostbite at Age 12 |
|
The result of a survival campout with my Boy Scout troop in January of 1966. At the time, my family doctor told me I'd probably get arthritis at an early age, due to the frostbite.
I started getting arthritis in my hands 20 years ago, when I was 32.
