How many cups of coffee do you drink each day?
I need some suggestions on how to change from drinking my coffee with half cream in it to drinking it black.

4. Two big strong cups a day,
w/ sweetener in it and 2% milk, that's all it takes. Interestingly, I bought a new coffee 'system' today.
You can't use cream any more? Any type? Powder, evap, nada? Maybe, depending on where you live, iced coffee might work. I'm not a black coffee person, so good luck.
WOW! The java thread got my attention!

7. Zero
I drink tea. One of the reasons I drink tea is that I put too much stuff in the coffee. It's more like a chewy dessert by the time I get finished with it.

9. Zero, never had a sip
For whatever reason, a hot murky liquid never appealed to me. Even on a frozen morning, I crave ice cold OJ. I'm a water, OJ, ginger ale guy.

My vague knowledge of what coffee must taste like are decades-ago samples of coffee candy.

10. Between 5 and 10 cups per day.
You should probably give up the cream gradually, because that's what you're used to.

If you want to make a quick transition, then you should avoid the usual coffees you drink, and go with something like flavored coffee or something exotic.

I gave up on sugar and cream about a year ago and haven't regretted it. I try not to drink cheap stuff, because I actually taste the coffee now. It's great. Good luck.

11. two
but I MUST have those 2 in the morning. Rarely a third in late afternoon.

I use fake powder and real sugar. (fake powder is delicious and addicting)

Why do you want to quit the cream? Maybe work your way to half and half, then regular milk then to 2% etc...

12. usually 2
sometimes 3 if I have an after-dinner cup.

half cream? As in half coffee, half cream? Or half cream, as in a bit of half n' half?

I switched from half n' half to soy milk for my coffee awhile back - I think it adds a nice flavor.

16. How many cups in the pot?
I have a pot in the morning before my classes and then I have several cups during the day. What's funny is I can have a cup before I go to sleep and it doesn't effect me.

I occasionally have decaf in the evening w/ dessert. When I do that it's about 1/3 cream (yes, real cream -- not silk, not skim milk, not 1/2 and 1/2) and coffee.

I've given up caffeine in my quest for weight control. :P

For hot drinks now, it's herbal teas for me. :-)

34. I often wonder if that would help these last 10 pounds.
I had wanted 10 more pounds off, but I remain stuck and unmovable. I mean, I'm at a healthy weight, but still, I wanted a specific number that I have yet to attain. I keep saying I "should" give up the one cup, but that's the one little vice I can't quite seem to give up.
(At least, I came out of my Halloween candy frenzy of two weeks ago. It's amazing how that carb addiction thing can creep up again when you're not careful or under stress.)

I drank coffee as a kid. I ate what I called "coffee soup." Mostly milk and sugar with a little coffee in it for taste. I liked dipping my buttered toast in it. :9

I finally gave up caffiene for good when I read what it does in your body, depending on your sensitivity to it. Caffeine engages your fight or flight response.... which means releasing cortisol, the stress hormone.

Cortisol is yet another hormone, besides insulin, that says "store my fat!" That's why I don't do caffiene anymore. :-)

It's amazing how that carb addiction thing can creep up again when you're not careful or under stress.)

*Nod, Nod* Yes, even now I have a tough time stopping at one serving if I endulge in a wrong food: a piece of regular bread; pasta, some kind of pastry, and whole grains, even.

There's a part of me that's dreading the holidays because of it. :P
