Bush Calls on NASA to Put Man on Sun by 2010
http://www.bobfromaccounting.com/3_11_02/bushputsmanonsun.html

---“One of our earlier Presidents set the goal of landing a man on the moon and that certainly sounded remarkable at the time. I see no reason why we couldn’t eventually get a man to walk on the sun without injury," Bush said.---

---"The only way to unlock the sun's mysteries is to have our astronauts do a lunar landing on its surface," said Bush. "Then, they can collect all of the astrological information we need. With this information we might one day find a way to cool off the sun and put an end to global warming."---

4. Seriously, I believe a landing on Mercury is actually possible
since Mercury has a dark side which is always away from the sun.

6. And you couldn't actually "walk" on the Sun anyway
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 02:38 PM by RobertSeattle
Assuming you could create a spacesuit that could withstand the heat, there is no "surface" of the Sun anway.

Post Columbia accident I'm much more in favor of robotic missions. Much more science for much less cost and risk.

10. Absolutely.
Afterall, NASA is in Houston. And they all remember what a fine Governor the Shrub was, and what a fantastic leader he is now.

I'm sure they would find no problem with this plan.

:hi:

9. Great Idea! Sheer Brilliance! I vote that for his brilliance and all round
super smartness, that George W Bush be the first man on the Sun.

He will go down in history, forever remembered for his 1 nanosecond walk on the Sun!

Fire up the rockets, no need for special suits, just put that space monkey er I mean GREAT MAN, on a saddle (horse excluded of course), stetson on his head, and blast him into the sun!

We'll all cheer for months!

12. Another example of bias against Bush.
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 03:21 PM by argyl
Although Smirk did propose putting a man on the sun, it was his idea that it be done at night to prevent harm to our astronauts.
An old Aggie joke.

14. That is a very old joke from '69 I believe
Might be older... still funny when applied to a genius like Bush.
