2. Love and Mercy / Brian Wilson
I was sittin' in a crummy movie with my hands on my chin
Oh the violence that occurs seems like we never win

Love and mercy that's what you need tonight
So, love and mercy to you and your friends tonight

I was lyin' in my room and the news came on T.V.
A lotta people out there hurtin' and it really scares me

Love and mercy that's what you need tonight
So, love and mercy to you and your friends tonight

I was standin' in a bar and watchin' all the people there
Oh the lonliness in this world well it's just not fair

Oooooo-ooooooo-ooooooo
Oooooo-ooooooo-ooooooo-ooooooo-ooooooo
Ahhhhh-ahhhhhh-ahhhhhh-ohhhhhh-ohhhhhh

Hey love and mercy that's what you need tonight
So, love and mercy to you and your friends tonight

Love and mercy that's what you need tonight
Love and mercy tonight

Love and mercy

9. I loved that song
when I was in third grade. But then I learned what it was about, and I thought it creepy (I got over it).

Third graders today would probably know what the song was about immediately, and aren't creeped out by sex at all.

4. I have to admit....
...every time I open the DU Lounge, "Flaming Youth" pops into my head and stays there. For hours.

25. Phish, hmmm - Bouncing 'Round the Room?
Disclaimer - not a particularly representative Phish song, and generally at a show it was my cue to go pee and get a beer, but seems somewhat appropriate for this room/lounge.

7. Louis Armstrong... Wonderful World.
Friends, hope, and love.
What more would we want.

Oh, okay... a party or two.
But then, ya gotta make do with the tilted world again.
So, you'd be back singin' this song!

19. I agree. I think people
say the "silliness" and overlooked that there might be some political messages in it.

18. LOL! Somebody gave me Ashcroft's Christmas
album last year. I can't decide whether it would be worth the giggles I am sure are available if I listen to it or to save it shrinkwrapped as a collector's item and make some money off that asshole.

24. What's So Funny Bout Peace Love & Understanding?
Elvis Costello or Nick lowe, take you pick.
Lyrics:

As I walk through
This wicked world
Searchin' for light in the darkness of insanity.

I ask myself
Is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred, and misery?

And each time I feel like this inside,
There's one thing I wanna know:
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding? Ohhhh
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

And as I walked on
Through troubled times
My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes
So where are the strong
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony.

'Cause each time I feel it slippin' away, just makes me wanna cry.
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding? Ohhhh
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

So where are the strong?
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony.

'Cause each time I feel it slippin' away, just makes me wanna cry.
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding? Ohhhh
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding? Ohhhh
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

30. Great title
But I'm not sure how long I could stay in the lounge if it was actually playing. I guess I could use the time to reminisce about stretch pants, big shorts, and sideways haircuts.

really funny guy. Jenny Lee Harrison (I think that was the name of the actress who replaced Suzanne Sommers): not funny at all.
