Anybody every see a movie projected DIGITALLY? |
|
At the theater in Daly city, they have "The Incredibles" projected the normal way, or you can see it in the digital projection system DLP. Anybody seen a movie at the theater in this format?
I think I might have seen it when they show the ads before the film. It was very sharp and clear, but kind of bright, cold and reminded me of flourescent light compared to incandescent.
Do you prefer this format or the conventional projector?

Digital projection is a much preferable way to see a digitally made movie (like The Incredibles.) Rather than taking a digital file and copying it over onto film simply in order to project it, one can have ir projected digitally retaining all of the proper color information, etc. It's possible that your theater has improperly set up the digital projector--because seriously, you ought not to be able to tell the difference between digital and film projection. Within the next 10 years, *all* theater projection will be digital.
I actually own a digital projector, and I'd honestly say it looks better than nearly any movie theater I've been to.
