Just back from Diana Ross
and I'm pleased to say Miss Ross scored a 98% fabulosity quotient.

She's now 60 years old... and looks GREAT. Her first costume was a VERY short-skirted little number and she's got great legs and a fine figure.

It was everything you'd expect - great motown hits, LOTS of costume changes, lotsa glitter and gloss and all her hits. The cutest part was a guy in the second row who'd brought a great poster from 1979 promoting the Supremes at Lincoln Center. She marveled at it, then asked who had signed it - it was the two Supremes. Diana said "I haven't signed it? Pass it up!" and thus she made some guy VERY happy.

The best part of the show was the last set where she did three great Billie Holiday numbers from "Lady Sings the Blues", then led into a show-stopping "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Her first encore was the sorta lame "Endless Love" followed by "I Will Survive", not her song, but she made it hers.

Great show.

5. heheh
true. I expected her to be good, but she was REALLY REALLY good. She got applause a few times just by striking a perfect Diana Ross pose.

3. Thanks for the review! I love her music!
I loved the story about the fan bringing memorabilia and lucky him, obtains the signature of all of the Supremes! Quite rare.

Thanks.

8. lucky you!! I love Diana!
She is truly a diva. I've heard her version of "I Will Survive" and she does make it her own. That is one of my all time favorite songs. Oh geez, how gay am I?

11. I'm working her show here in Denver tomorrow at the Paramount...
I'm working as the PA/Runner. I have to be at their hotel at 8:30 AM.

I'm hearing that they're pretty high maintainance. But it IS Diana Ross. To think it would be an easy day would be living in a dream world.

12. how fun!
Yes, she's famous for being high-maintenance. Just don't look her in the eye and be sure to call her "Miss Ross" :)

13. I've been doing this for a decade....
it's not THAT much fun anymore. But it surely doesn't suck. But it ruins the "magic" of concerts. 18 hour days are a bummer. But it goes by fast.

I've worked for bigger names. Ringo Starr. He was a hoot. Horrible mouth (hey...a gutter punk from a port city...it was to be expected). But what a great sense of humor. Got a death threat (he told me he gets them in nearly every city he goes...isn't that fuct up?) and we had a police escort from Red Rocks to the Brown Palace.

My favorite band to work for...Ozomatli. Like hanging out with my pals. Down to earth. Love their families. And their music is just SO uplifting.

Worst band to work for...ALL Christian bands. Demanding. Hypocritical. Just all around wankers. Ever seen Spinal Tap? Kind of like that...without the fun.

cool. I'm glad to hear Ozomatli was nice - I saw them last year and they were really good. They're playing a club in town soon and I plan to go see 'em again. They sure seemed to enjoy what they were doing.
