Dagnabbed kids!
grouse, grump, ache

Teaching young children is as much floor show production as anything else. I'm pooped. I would guess I'm eating around 3,500 calories a day (pie graphs today made me hungry) and although I think I've quit losing weight since mid-August, I certainly haven't gained any.

Anyone want to send me a pizza and a Jack & coke? :D

2. what kind of pizza?
I ran an afterschool program for 1st - 5th graders which expanded to 12 hours a day in summer and on vacations. I always had 25 kids and one aid (part time).

I know just how tired you are.

3. 12 hours a day?
Christ on a crutch.

I'm not picky as to kind. I've eaten pizza with corn and green beans on it before.

(btw, I meant to respond to your thread re: the miscarriage and didn't get around to it, but I've been thinking about y'all. Hope you and Ms BMcLH are doing well.)

7. 6 AM to 6PM
Some vacation eh? I tried as hard as I could to make it fun, but man, 12 hours... I appreciated the position the parents were in, and knew that it was costing them a mint to send the kids to me, but 12 hours...

12 FREAKIN HOURS.... Five days a week... 10 weeks. And half the kids were on "medication vacations" (which was fine with me) and were able to be kids for a while and not automatons.

I recommend a nice large size Linguica Pizza from one of the fine Portuguese owned Pizza Parlors of my home town New Bedford, MA. Failing that the "house pizza" from Red Rose Pizza in Springfield, MA, Pepperoni and red peppers, possibly the best pizza I've ever had.

Thanks for the well wishes. We are recovering slowly, but we are recovering. I'll pass on your thoughts to Mrs. McLargehuge.

8. that's completely insane
I did aftercare a couple of times when I taught before, but that was maybe four hours a whack, tops. Hope you were paid handsomely.

13. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Paid Handsomely!!!!! HOOOOO HHAAAAhAHAHA`
I made just above minimum, but I did have comprehensive health and dental. It was a non-profit.

If I was suddenly bestowed with a million bucks to live on, I'd go back to it in one second. It was best, worst paying, job I've ever had. I still have friendships with some of the kids who are in high school now.

10. Corn pizza?
Hong Kong? China? Singapore? :-)

I love corn, and I love pizza, but I don't always understand the latter's geographic variants.
