Jezusland must have a capital. Where should it be?
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 12:05 PM by burythehatchet
What's your nomination?

I nominate Kennesaw, GA for being the only city that passed a local ordinance that requires homeowners to have a firearm.

Kennesaw - Gateway to Jezusland.

No offense intended to faithful, practicing Christians. Jezusland is a fictional country that is a metaphor for right wing nuts in Red States.

28. Except that Vegas is the dot of blue in the sea of NV red.
More specifically, Clark County, in which Vegas is located is the blue dot.

I think we should instead install an embassy for The United States of Canada.

14. How about Oral Roberts University!
They can annex the property and name it Jezusland (I think we should spell it this way since Jesus was a pretty cool dude and most of these guys worship a fake Jesus of there own creation. Their Jezus is more like a Leprichan than a prophet/philosopher/healer).

Look at the excellent prayer tower and praying hands! They can have George Bush live in the prayer tower instead of the white house!

25. Believe It or Not
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 12:13 PM by wow
Oral Roberts used to be a Democrat. Don't know if he still is or not. But I do know that he was responsible for prohibiting students from wearing black armbands on campus to protest the tenth anniversary of Roe v. Wade many years ago. I doubt he personally gives a flip about the christian political agenda - for him it was and is all about the money.

On edit: There used to be an active group of Young Democrats on campus there. Don't know if there still is or not.

20. They Already Have One Right Here in Tulsa JOklahoma
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 01:05 PM by wow
Home of Oral Roberts University, the Kenneth Hagin Ministries and Rhema Bible College, numerous other assorted Bible schools, two fundamentalist mega-churches of over 10,000 members and some 900 churches at last count. Direct and indirect connections here to most all the fundie politicians and ministries. Has to be the highest per capita concentration of fundies in the country....

On edit: Oh , yeah, and I forgot to mention the each year there are at least 5 week long religious conventions (1 - Rhema's Campmeeting, 2 - Victory Christian Center Word Explosion, 3 - Leadership Conference, 4 - World Missions Conference, and 5 - Bill Gothard's Basic Institute in Youth Conflicts and there could be more that I am not aware of) that draw folks from all over the world. Also, the Christian Business Leaders International Group is headquartered here.

2nd edit for spelling

Home of Pat Robertson, and military freeper central. Soulless and suburbanized to the core. Guns and Gawd rule in Virginia Beach.

It's a sorry place. Can't shit or spit without hitting a church.

I also don't give a shit about offending anyone, so no disclaimers or apologies here.

27. I second the vote for Sugarland.
Although it is not, geographically speaking, far enough to the right, Sugarland is the home of Bugman Tom DeLay and it is within spittin' distance of perhaps the biggest MegaFundy Church in the country - Lakewood Church.
