I am accessing DU via emegency back-up power!!

the storm that hit Boston last week has laid the smack-down on Nova Scotia, bringing down several transmission towers. We have had a foot of wet heavy snow in the last 24hours. Power is out but because the cable and phone use the same system, and they are running that system on generators, I can access the net by powering my modem and router with a small battery power supply. whooo hooo!!

so the question remains, is using precious back-up power to access DU the right thing to do? Am I being frivolous?

2. just north of Halifax
I guess 4 big transmission towers came down near dartmouth and numerous other areas

yep the grid got trashed during the blizzard last Feb and Hurricane Juan last September
