6. I don't understand why they use the term "avatar"
for those little pictures next to our names. "Avatar" means "an incarnation in human form," "the incarnation of a Hindu deity," and "a variant phase or version of a continuing basic entity". Boggles the mind.

Anyways, I chose my avatar because I like beer.

14. Yeah, I know.
I just wondered how they came up with the term.

Sorry. It's Sunday afternoon and I'm studying. I guess I'm thinking too much.

I should go surf the other Internet. Maybe it'll tell me there.

42. a funny (well it was funny to me)
.. i went thru the too-typical hazing in the beginning w/ people accusing me of being a troll or otherwise slamming me. Someone made some comment about "check out the avatar - clearly a freeper." Well -- i had to look that one up -- and came up with the same definition you posted.

So -- I wrote back explaining where my NAME came from and how it could not possibly be interpreted as republican ... blah blah blah

this kind (to me) gentleman PM'd to explain that (1) avatar was the pic, not the screenname ... and ... (2) he was responding to another post, not mine

i was ... embarrassed .......

And I really, really like it to the point where I am super-pleased with my career choice. A job that pays well, helps people heal, has a relatively good hiring market, and cannot be shipped overseas - pretty sweet. In 9 months, I'll be doing it for a living.

Who knows? I might move-on to MRI..

I weep whenever I visit Arlington -- for all those who gave their lives, and particular for RFK.

Make Love, Not War. Killing is so destructive. Killing begets more killing. Where does one stop?

Can anyone imagine if all that money that this administration has used for killing and destruction and hi-tech war toys since 9/11/01 had been used for education and Health care? How much better and safer this country and the world would be,
