3. I really hate it when newspapers publish that spiders are insects.
It's sort of like calling Bush a member of the DLC...An understandable mistake for the uninformed, but an egregious error for insiders.

"Harvestmen arachnids are sometimes mistaken for spiders but they are more closely related to ticks or mites because they do not spin webs. " Same link as above further down.

6. they are in different orders, all under Class Arachnida
mites & ticks = Order Acari
spiders = Order Araneae
harvestmen (daddy longlegs) = Order Opiliones

insects are elsewhere in the scheme of things, different class (Hexapoda) altogether
