Lennon and Jagger footage found
Lennon and Jagger footage found

Lost footage of John Lennon has been uncovered by documentary makers, showing him clowning around with Mick Jagger.

The film was discovered in the archives of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) by the team making a documentary about the late star.

The footage - clips of which are to be screened by the BBC programme Arena on Saturday - captures Lennon and Yoko Ono at their Tittenhurst Park house in 1969, laughing and playing chess.

The Arena team found the film can, which was marked "miscellaneous", in the archive in Vienna.

2. Well, I know some of the Beatles went to see the Stones perform
very early on ....

I am holding in my hand a 45 I bought in Sept 1965 which I ordered from England...from Albert Hand Limited.

The A side is...I Wanna Be Your Man, by McCartney-Lennon. The song that Ringo sang. It was actually written for the Stones, as far as I know!!

(I became a total Stones fan very soon after the Beatles arrived--loved them, but hooked onto the Stones very early...subscribed to their British fan mag back in 65 and have several 45's and EP's never released here at the time, possibly never...most with covers of US blues artists)
