Isn't this Art Bell's fifth "unretirement" now?

Guess who's decided to come out of "retirement" again?

I love to hate Art Bell. He works my last nerve. The "ghost" sightings, his hijinks during the run-up to Y2K, the "emotional tailspins".

My husband will be buying a new set of earplugs; he just loves the midnight nudges and my hissing, "Who listens to this crap?"

I'll bet he came back because he can't stand the thought of George Noory doing the "Ghost To Ghost" broadcast on Halloween.

What are your thoughts on this earthshaking matter?

Julie

2. Art Bell is a BORE----Noory flip-flopped all over the place with the
war crap, Barbara Simpson is a creep...

And that is the reason I listen to Shortwave EXCLUSIVELY now...
God bless Radio Netherlands, BBC, Taiwan, Canada, Australia--not just for news, but for excellent in-depth shows and some real good entertainment as well!!

I stopped listening when Art left the program. I guess I'll have to start listening on weekends now.

4. one or twice a week is enough
not as fun as it was at first, but still worth tuning in on occassion. Kind of an on air version of World weekly news.

6. Great News!
Noory (sp?) ruined the show and the website.

Art Bell was a great breath of psychotically fresh air on AM radio, he always let people talk their trash, but didn't suffer fools gladly.

When did this come up?

7. Okay, I'm
:kick: ing my own thread.

I can't believe that there aren't more on DU who love to hate the Bellster.

I'm looking forward to his inevitable meltdown at whatever caller dares to call his bluff on the "retiring" thing.

8. I Like Art
Used to be the only program I would listen on the Clear Channel station in my area. After he left, I switched to the BBC on SW and Cable TV.

Kinda fun to listen to the "Weekly World News" on radio with a sharp non-rabid talk-show host.

9. Art's ok, but I like
Jeff Rense better for paranormal stuff. And his shows are archived.

I am a Mike Malloy and KGO junkie these days for most everything else.

When I get a better handle on Arabic I'll check out some of the Arabic radio stations.

10. I love Art!
I listen to 'em late at night, or did, at any rate. Noory's okay, but Art is a heavyweight!

11. Art is back again?
In use the radio as a sleep aid. For a litle while I used to listen to Art nightly. I found him darkly fascinating. But ultimately it got old and I stopped listening.

But I must admit I got sucked into a couple of his schtiks. I actually got nervous after hearing his -- geee what do they call them I can't even remember now -- oh yeah, remote viewer guest predicting that a space civilization had launched a pathogen from the comet to earth that would kill all plant life on Earth. That was about four years ago, and we were supposed to be living in caves now....(Instead we got George Bush.)

Who me gullible?
