How about the Beatles covering other people's tunes? |

Usually, I prefer the original version of any song that the mid-'60s Brit-rock bands re-did. However, I must say, the Beatles did a damned fine remake of "Twist and Shout" that's even better than the Isley Brothers' mighty original! I also like their take on "Long Tall Sally," though Little Richard certainly owns that song.
So, what's your favorite Beatles cover of an earlier song?

1. I have a fondness for their version of "Anna." |

Great Lennon vocal, even though he recorded it while suffering from a heavy cold.

I think though the Beatles did excellent versions of "Don't Ever Change" and "Twist and Shout" and "Baby It's You . Other excellent versions include the Larry Williams numbers, "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" and (esp.) "Bad Boy". And, as someone has pointed out, their version of "Rock and Roll Music" way surpasses Chuck Berry's.
