Is America getting fatter?

Don't know the answer to that question. But, I can hazard a guess with companies like Hardee's offering a 1400-calorie, 107 fat gram hamburger (caloric and fat content not counting fries and a soda).

2. Aside from the Hummer of the burger world

The answer is probably yes. The baby boomers are entering old age. As one ages and metabolism slows, one tends to put on pounds... unless one is a diet/exercise fanatic. And I mean fanatic. The normal exercise one gets during the day and normal (healthy) meals don't keep off the weight of age. So as one ages, one must watch calorie and fat intake more closely and increase the amount of exerise. Most of us (me included) don't make the extra effort.

4. pick out any book with photographs

of street scenes from the 50's....it is hard to find any really fat people. i didn't believe this until someone challenged me to look. it's true!
