20. Jefferson Airplane
I'm a big dead fan. I saw the 15th, and 20th anniversary shows plus another 50 or so but lately have been listening to the Airplane. They were a great band and their music still holds up. Read the Music Box's review of the rereleases of there first six albums. John Metzger writes an accurate review. People forget that the closing band of Sat. night at Woodstock was the Airplane and the closing band for the finale on Sunday was Hendrix. No women has ever sung rock like Grace Slick and the band with Jack and Jorma was a powerhouse.

Best wooden ships. Also if you can find a copy of Woodstock2 there are 2 great airplane songs, 3 CS&Y and 3 unheard of Hendrix songs on it.

12. "The Pina Colada Song"
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 12:34 PM by CO Liberal
I'm listening to a Big Band station in Colorado Springs - KCMN, 1530 AM. It's owned by a born-again asshole (Don Crawford, and Crawford Broadcasting) and they play a lot of patriotic and pro-conservative crap, but the musical variety is much better than the two oldies stations in the area, which keep playing the same handful of songs over and over.

Tomorrow, I bring in some CDs.....

33. Crawford Broadcasting?
They used to own an AM station in Dallas that churned out some of the wildest right-wing conspiracy-theory nonsense you could find without digging into the racist underground. Now it's a big-band/oldies station (thank God).

46. Leonard Cohen's new CD....
....at age 70, "the man" still has it.

"The Faith"

(Based on a Québec folk song).

Words and music by Leonard Cohen.

The sea so deep and blind
The sun, the wild regret
The club, the wheel, the mind,
O love, aren’t you tired yet?

The club, the wheel, the mind
O love, aren’t you tired yet?

The blood, the soil, the faith
These words you can’t forget
Your vow, your holy place
O love, aren’t you tired yet?

The blood, the soil, the faith
O love, aren’t you tired yet?

A cross on every hill
A star, a minaret
So many graves to fill
O love, aren’t you tired yet?

So many graves to fill
O love, aren’t you tired yet?

The sea so deep and blind
Where still the sun must set
And time itself unwind
O love, aren’t you tired yet?

And time itself unwind
O love, aren’t you tired yet?
