Today would have been my father's 84th birthday, if leukemia hadn't taken him in 1991. Dad was part of the "Greatest Generation" - he was a Marine who served in the South Pacific in WWII, and came back to get married and raise a family. He was a life-long Democrat, who together with my mother taught my sisters and me to think for ourselves.
So Happy Birthday, Dad. I love you, and I still miss you. Semper fi.
