who else lets the grocery store cook T-Day dinner for them?
I just love ordering my holiday dinners in advance and letting them do the majority of the work

i just add my "special" dishes. dinner in 90 minutes instead of all day long in the kitchen

this year I used my local Democrat owned grocery store and can't wait!

1. I have in the past
I work at a Safeway and generally work on Thanksgiving. Before I met my hubby, I shared a place with a guy who also worked that day so we did the same. It was very good at a decent price and really cut down on the hassle factor.

Now though, hubby is off and loves to cook so it's his chore.

3. I did last year.
I was really, really sick, like almost in the hospital sick, and had been for about ten days.

I ordered the meal from Albertsons. It wasn't anywhere near as good as homemade, but it sufficed and the family at least had a Thanksgiving dinner.

4. Nope. I almost never _really_ cook, so I don't mind holiday cooking. It's
the dishwashing after the fact that kills me. Usually my mother pitches in and does that cause hubby and I prepared the food.

5. It depends on how many you are feeding------
I did it for years for a large group, and ordering out would have been too expensive.

Kids do it now!

15. yummmm! reminds me of a T-Day past with my 2nd hubby, we had
planned a ski trip for the T-Day weekend. I did no shopping at all.

a blizzard blew in and we couldn't get up the hill to the ski resorts

we had venison, prime rib and cornish game hens from the freezer for thanksgiving and I ended up cooking for 22 adults and 6 children (sigh)

no wonder I divorced the dude lol

17. But you still have to cook the turkey!
And everything else was just canned with an eight inch pie! I did it just once and it was all frozen and canned! What is the point? I just slap the turkey in a bag and can open a can myself as well as buy a better pie! Unless you went to AJ's? They actually cook it but it is way more expensive .It was $110 years ago! I once needed more mashed potatoes and ran to Aj's on Turkey day and they charged methirty dollars for regular mashed potatoes to feed four! I pointed out that a whole bag of potatoes only cost 99 cents!

18. really? I've never had that experience doing it that way
hope your experience wasn't at Basha's or I'll cancel my order

don't know how they can get yam and marshmallow casserole out of a can or stuffing. The turkey is cooked already when I pick it up, it just needs to be warmed for an hour

You pick it up hot and it saves on doing the dishes.

23. Think of how much it saves you on the foil pans alone
Whole foods sells "hot" cooked 6 pound rotisserie turkeys that are out of this world (well not really but they are pretty good). Their side dishes aren't that bad either. I allocate $100.00 bucks for Thanksgiving Dinner which includes a bottle of wine.
