Ask me anything
I want the rest of the DUers to stop picking on me for being so... well, small on the post counter, if you get me, so go ahead, ask me anything. I'm a software engineer and computer geek, so any tech questions are cool.

1. why won't my win98
quick restore work??? It keeps giving me error messages, even after I totally erased the entire hard drive first, per compaq's instructions.

There, that could get you up a few posts!

6. Ok
So you completely scrubbed the machine (formatted the hard drive), and are booting from the CD-ROM, or a floppy disk?

What error messages are you receiving specifically?

12. completely scrubbed
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 08:46 PM by Lefta Dissenter
then booting with the compaq quickrestore disks (edited to clarify that they're CD's) that also format the hd. The last error message appeared after the first disk had been whirring and counting along, all looking good, and then it seemed to lock up (no more counting up) and I got the QuickRestore Error #134: 9 Please contact Compaq Service or Dealer message. That's never good. :argh:

Sounds like a problem reading from the disk. Try cleaning it, or buffing it off, check it for scratches and all that, you know?

The skly is blue as a result of the refraction of light rays through the atmosphere reflecting the blue end of the spectrum.

26. Cadburys Caramilk

Milk chocolatey pockets with golden caramel filling. Also of note is an advert for this bar which ran in Canada for many years which asked the question what is the secret of Caramilk? i.e How do they get the liquid caramel centre inside the chocolate bar. There are many discussions and heated debates on usenet about how it's done!

You broke 200.
