25. He gave $50 MILLION of his salary to the crew who made Matrix.. |
|
his salary was $70 million plus.
Earlier this year. He said he had more money than he could spend in his lifetime, and he felt the crew was responsible for the success of the movie, not he.
He's also donated massive sums to City of Hope.

|
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 11:45 PM by tjdee
I've seen a lot of his movies, and even though I do think he isn't America's greatest actor, his movies are always watchable and he never detracts from them. His brand of...whatever he does...works.
Plus, he looked hot in Speed. Excuse me, HOT AS HELL. All buffed out and everything (and I don't like buffed out).
And as I mentioned, he has a nice smile.

I admit i don't understand the Keanu hatin'! I don't think he's a poor actor. Not excellent, by any stretch, but a decent character actor.
I loved him in Bill & Ted. Then, when he was in Chain Reaction (is that right? The one about the cheap energy project with Morgan Freeman?) i thought he was a good action hero type.
I liked him in the Matrix (but i didn't like the other two movies at all).
And, he plays in a band and has never tried to leverage his existing fame to get a contract. Just plays for the fun of playing.
So, what i can say nice is: Keanu, you're ok by me. The Professor

40. He was perfect for "The Matrix" |
|
I was actually thinking about this the other night - it's not that he was tremendous or amazing in the role of Neo, but that the part was written with his acting capabilities (or lack thereof) in mind. He was a piece of wood, but he had to be to pull that part off. Anything else would have been less believable.

which is about a woman who has psychic abilities. Also, there were some other things in this movie (and I recommend it).
Mr. Reeves played an abusive, coarse, ne'er-do-well, jealous husband. And, do you know what? He was really good. No valley-boy, surfer "dude speak". Maybe there is a bit more than meets the eye.
So, Keanu, start exploring character roles. You could shine.
