I'm curious: Are any of you flying an upside-down flag outside?
And if so, have you gotten any comments or harassment because of it?

4. Yes, since November 3
and will until Bush is out of there.
Neighbors have not commented yet; they may just think it blew that way. Hahaha. Others know my feelings are not in agreement so it does perturb them I am sure.

5. Disgraceful...
Personally I think its disgraceful to do what you are doing with our country's flag especially with us being at war...but then again that is why many of my friends are in Iraq fighting for...the right for people like you all to have those types of freedoms...I hope you appreciate what they and every other soldiers past, present, and future did so that you could do that.

8. Not. It isn't Disgraceful
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 11:30 AM by MadAsHellNewYorker
What is disgraceful is when America becomes a place where dissent is considered "evil." Where elections are fradulent. Where people are in a war for a lie. This is not America with that man in the white house stealing civil liberties and blocking civil rights. That is why we fly the flag upside down. To make it clear America is not America right now.

It's disgraceful that our troops are dying for a lie, letting our fellow American's know our country has been highjacked is not.

What a trip you are. Go drink some more kool-aid.

Bush was placed in power after a fraudulent election in 2000. We were called "Crazy" then for saying FRAUD had taken place. We were vindicated then, and we will be vindicated now.

There was NO REAL MAJORITY for bush. Get it through your fundie skull. Mandate my ass. 51% is not a majority. Thats just above a minority.

Why can't you accept that bush is a liar, a false prophet, and not a true republican (Do the words DEFICIT SPENDING mean ANYTHING to you?)

I like real republicans. One's who are for Individual liberties, no govt. getting too involved in anyone's business. But its people who don't really understand republicans who have high-jacked that party. For example, Bush wants to let illegal immigrates take jobs from American Citizens. YOU AGREE WITH THAT??!?!?!?!! There was a time when a true republican would be outraged.

Get over yourself. We CANNOT JUST MOVE ON TO '08 when '00, '02, and '04 had such obvious cases of voter fraud. Forget about the HUGE black precincts with 1 voting machine for every 1000 people vs. the white repub areas where there were 1 machine for every 100 people? JIM CROW ANYONE? It won't matter by '08. WE NEED TO STAND UP AND FIGHT AGAINST PEOPLE LIKE YOU NOW.

10. Upside Down Flag Is A Recognized International Sign Of Distress
Go educate yourself.

America died on 11/02/2004 with the stolen election.

America is now in distress since it is now truly Amerika, run for and by the corporations.

25. Scenario for you...
I'm out fishing on the high seas in my 34 foot blackfin. Day's going great until...Pirates!!! They storm my boat and take me hostge, but not before I have a chance to raise the American flag upside down.

Another boat comes by and sees my upside down flag. Do they think:

1) Trouble! I better call the USCG.
2) Trouble! Let's investigate and render aide.
3) Trouble! I better call my congressman and seek a change to our current adminstration.
4) No trouble. That person is just expressing dissent.
5) I wonder what bait he's using?

16. Go back to knuckledraggers-ville, dude
My grandfather and father fought in WWII and Vietnam, respectively, and they both have upside-down flags on their cars. Don't lecture me about being unpatriotic. Go back to Freakerville.

23. An upside down flag isn't disgraceful...
It's a universal sign of distress. IF you had been here for any time at all, you'd know that. And it's not disrespectful at all. Our country is in distress, if you hadn't noticed.

more disgraceful than SOS, mayday, or any other internationally recognized symbol of distress.

26. um, your post makes no sense
what does this have do with the war? the flag is a symbol, and if someone turns it upside down that is symbolic of *a* grievance with some aspect of the USA, not every aspect. The flag has no feelings, but soldiers do, therefore I think it is more of a disgrace to send boys and girls to their death under the guise of flag-waving patriotism-if the flag had feelings I am sure it would be ashamed at the false pretenses it has been exploited under.

30. I appreciate the troops but our country is under attack from the GOP
Do you think that we should not have the right to voice our dissent? That sounds like a right-wing argument to me.

My father fought in Vietnam. My grandfather fought in WWII. They fought so that we could have the opportunities that we have, including the right to speak out against a corrupt government.

I am a vet.
That is the way I choose to dissent

If you think your friends are in Iraq fighting for OUR freedom you might want to drop back three years and start reading what this war in Iraq is all about.

17.  a flag in 2 dimensions can be placed 8 ways
as any design it is a design.freeptology always looks at a small part of the design and is under the impression that they know the
original plan.
