Woman sentenced for biting off boyfriend's tongue

A St. Paul woman who bit off a piece of her boyfriend's tongue after an argument in June was sentenced Tuesday to 90 days in jail and ordered to undergo mental-health and chemical-dependency treatment.

Pamela D. Johnson, 43, also must complete an anger-management program under the sentence imposed by Ramsey County District Judge Marybeth Dorn.

Johnson told police that she was arguing with her boyfriend, Larry Sylvester, in her bedroom early in the morning on June 16, according to a criminal complaint.

After the argument Sylvester hugged and kissed her, but Johnson told police that she was afraid he was going to hurt her and she "bit down a little too hard" on his tongue.

The story said that she bit off the front 1/3 of his tongue, which they never found. He'll heal (that sounds odd out loud), and he'll have to learn some speech compensation, but she's going to be missing out (nudge, nudge, wink wink, know what I mean).
