1. What is the history of the company?
what is the single trait they are most looking for in a candidate?

What charitable efforts does the company make?

3. How much vacation time and sick leave do I get?
If they tell you 2 weeks and 2 weeks tell them, "Great, mail me my paycheck and I'll see you in about a month."

4. "What's the career path for this position?"
"How will you measure success for this position? How is success rewarded?"

Show that you're interested in the long view.

5. Ask what are the priorities for the position, the challenges,
responsibilities, reporting structure, how top performers are recognized/rewarded?

Describe a difficult challenge in your professional carrer, and how you went about solving it. Be prepared they might ask you question as well... I sooo hate that question... :grr:

8. Dont ask about the history if its a large company
...look it up online and know a little about it.

But do ask about their future...growth plans etc.

Also - not good idea , IMHO, to ask the money/O-Time questions until at least the second interview. I know they are important but believe me it puts your App at the bottom of the pile if you jump right to those questions in first interview.

9. My suggestion
"How will you envision that I can most effectively contribute to your organization?"

"How soon can I start?!"

10. Depends on where you're coming from
If this is your first job in a new field or out of school, you might ask if a lot of the company's management started out at entry-level jobs there. You have to make sure you achieve an optimistic, rather than snide, tone with this one, though.

If you are coming in with some kind of record of achievement in the field, a good question would be "Will I be able to ____ like I did at ___?" Fill in the blanks with your greatest achievement in the field to date.
