Would you withhold aid from a RWNB in immediate need? |
|
RWNB = right wing nut bag
Examples of "need" for this thread:
1. you saw a car plastered w/ GOP propaganda get in a wreck and the driver's bleeding
2. your fundy neighbor's house burned down
3. the grocery checker you've gone to for 15 years (she spouts RW talking points but still) is suddenly a widow w/ no life insurance
4. name it
If you'd give aid, why? If not, why?
Just curious.

2. No I wouldn't withhold aid |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 03:07 PM by gollygee
I wouldn't choose whether or not to help someone based on their political views. If someone needs help and I'm able to help, I will.
Edited because this said YES which meant - Yes I would *give* aid, not yes I would withhold it. *SIGH*

3. Interesting that you post this |
|
...I have been helping a family near me who has a child with cancer. I got their mortgage paid, paid their bills, etc. They voted for Shrub. (Frankly, if anyone needs health care, it is those folks) I just arranged to have some work done on the house, and if they needed help from me, I would help them. I guess you just can't blame people for being stupid, right?

1) No medical skills here--I'd call 911 ASAP (no cell phone).
2) If I knew them well, I'd give some quick help (warm clothes, warm drink).
3) The checker probably depended upon hubby for her ideas; now she's finding out just how smart he was.
Especially in cases 2 & 3, I'd attempt to see they got any government help for which they were eligible. All that "liberal" stuff they thought they didn't need.

If someone needs immediate medical care because of an accident, of course I would help.
When it comes to financial stuff, let them pray for it or go to those fundie churches. I don't care. They had the choice between a President who cared about what happens to the poor and needy and an incompetent idiot who takes money away from the poor to give it to the rich. Sorry, folks. You got what you wanted...suck it up.

Despite the ignorance of right-wingers, I can't allow people with differing political/social views to suffer such pain. That sounds like something they would do to us though.

14. Liberals are those who give wounded soldiers medical care |
|
even though we oppose the war. RWNB are those who promote the war, cut the soldiers combat pay, and refuse to feed or assist or even acknowledge them when they return deeply wounded.

15. I would offer my assistance |
|
If someone was hurt or in need of serious help, I would do what I could, regardless of what their politics were. Even if that meant giving them a place to sleep and some food to eat. Although I wouldn't allow any RW talk in my apt. But I will always stop to help someone out no matter what. Assuming I could do something that is. Guess I'm just a bleeding heart liberal.

20. professionally speaking, this is how i was taught cpr to rwnj |
|
firts you put hand (held like you would hold a flag) with the opening on the lips and then the other opening of course on top of your hand. You then put the other hand on top of that hand in the same manner. Now your have one open fist on top of the other open fist and this now make almost a tunnel down to the lips. You then bend down very close putting your lips to the top of your hands. and you whisper (you're gonna die you sob)
ok just kidding, would not let anyone die. You must remember that many repubs arent really repubs they just have not been educated yet. We must teach them. Of sourse I would not step in if someone was just beating the crap out of them with no intent to maime or kill.

21. I don't ask about victims politics, etc |
|
When I see a victim of a accident or tragedy. I don't care about anything other than taking care of the situation. They are in trouble and need help, and I am there to help. All the various descriptions used to clissify people become meaningless when a victim needs you.

I figured out what RWNB meant without looking (OK, I had "nut ball" instead of "nut bag", but still). And yeah, I would probably help. Can't even tell you why. I'm just wired that way.

28. I Help When I Can, Regardless |
|
For example, there's an intersection near my house that has a lot of accidents - people pull out of the side street without stopping. One day I was about 500 feet from the intersection when I saw an accident occur. I started dialing 911 on my cell phone as I approached - I saw that the woman in the minivan that had been broadsided was trying to get out. I parked my truck right behind her, got out, and called to her to stay put - she said she was afraid her engine was gonna blow. I noticed the Bush/Cheney stickers on her back window, but that didn't make any difference at that point.
At that point, andother driver ran up from the opposite side - he asked me if I was dialing 911. i told him i was waiting to get conencted to the dispatcher - he said for me to tell them that a firefighter was on the scene. I completed the call and moved my truck over to the side of the road. At this point, the woman in the minivan could see all teh pro-Democratic stickers on the back of my truck - if she looked in that direction.
I checked the people in the other car - they said they were all right. I told the firefighter that the dispatcher said help was on the way and I was leaving. He thanked me.
At a time like that, it doesn't matter to me what color someone is, what church they attent, or what their political beliefs are. If someone needs help and I can provide it, I will.
