Bush's Comments on Pardoning a Turkey

Intelligence notified me that today was the day to pardon the turkey. I said WTF? Pardon Turkey for what, what did they do now? Do they have WMD's? Is Osoma there now? I thought they were our allies.

4. I found his little "jokes" slightly offensive

Like rubbing salt in a wound. Ironic that, in his analogy, "Biscuits" and "Gravy" beat out "Patience" and "Fortitude."

Great comparison, LSparkle. Most of the time it's about putting other people down, rather than the "charming self-deprecation" that the press seems to like so much.

The guy plays mean practical jokes on people and is particularly unkind to anyone he perceives as "below" him. I recall when he tricked a reporter into drinking out of the creek at his Crawford estate back in 2000, then told the guy that the water was contaminated. Ha ha. People have excused Bush's behavior on the grounds that he may have been taken out of context, or that it doesn't happen very often -- but there are sure plenty of examples of him being nasty or boorish. When I think about my family, friends, and co-workers, very few of them have racked up as many of these types of incidents as Bush has!
