3. You should include some other categories, such as

anarchist, socialist, radical, progressive, communist, etc. and you'd get a better indication of where people are at. Of course, I'm a Democrat, but prefer socialism as an economic system, and philosophically am an anarchist because I believe people give too much importance to authority and laws and too little to conscience and personal integrity.
