Does anyone else here hate how Xmas starts before Halloween?
I must be really getting old 'cause I am reminiscing about my youth when Christmas was rolled out in all of its splendor the day after Thanksgiving. Black Friday was mandatory just to see all the decorations even if you weren't ready to buy! I was just sitting here reading posts and inserting my big mouth when I heard a Christmas commercial on TV. I will never understand the logic behind the early roll out. I think it desensitizes shoppers--at least it does me. What do you all think?

3. I protest.
I refuse to buy anything for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. It's just wrong.

And that Ben Affleck Christmas movie that came out last month, that was just wrong on many levels.

4. Tim Burton got his idea for The Nightmare Before Christmas
He got it from watching a department store change its front display from a Halloween theme to a Christmas theme. He was inspired by the common existence of ghouls and goblins with Santa Claus inspired him to write the poem on which the movie is based.

5. Hell yes -
By the time Christmas gets here I am so sick of seeing Christmas stuff. Especially living in a place where it doesn't snow. IMHO, I think it will be another few years until the stores decide to keep the stuff out year round. Ho ho f'n ho.

7. It's the Religious' Right New Early Christmas Warning"
OK. Here's the logic. Pretty simple. Go Wal-Mart !!! And to all the people who shop there.... just remember that you were a consumer after all the jobs go down in this Country. But, there may be hope yet...A competitor. K-Mart / Sears. Yes, another conglomerate that is stealing America away.

8. Yes!
I was in my local grocery store over a month ago and displayed within 20 feet of one another were Halloween pumpkins, Thanksgiving items, and Christmas decorations! All three days will soon be combined into one big three month long spending orgy...THANKSOWEENMAS!!! To which I say, no thank you! (I'm too effin' broke to be a good little patriotic shopper, anyhow!)

9. HA I'm 18 and I remember when Christmas came AFTER Thanksgiving
Although know Christmas has lost all true meaning, you know peace on earth good will toward men, all that. People just go through the motions and buy crap.. lots and lots of crap!
Thats all that really matters you know, buying things and getting things. So you have MORE things! :grr:

11. A Dallas radio station is already on 24/7 Christmas music
since Halloween no less!!!!!!

I am one of those who doesn't put up the tree until the second week in December, and this just drives me nuts!!!!!

I remember how exciting it was in Nashville when the big department stores unveiled their holiday windows on the day after Thanksgiving!

Now I start putting my Hallmark ornaments on layaway in September, so I can be sure to get the ones I want. (We have several series running right now)
